Each August, Red Shores at Charlottetown Driving Park is the home of one of the major entertainment attractions in Canada \u2013 The Gold Cup & Saucer. The fastest horses and the best drivers in all of Eastern Canada converge at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park for 10 racing programs over 9 days. The Gold Cup & Saucer dates back to the early 1960\u2019s and has become known as one of the most prestigious races in harness racing.<\/p>\n

Since 1961, the Gold Cup Ambassadors have been representing world class horses at the Gold Cup & Saucer race, as well as other racing events on Prince Edward Island.<\/p>\n
Over the past six decades, the Gold Cup Ambassador program has evolved into a community-focused initiative that embodies the spirit of harness racing on PEI. This program is deeply rooted in the rich history of the sport, aiming to preserve its legacy while fostering a vibrant connection between, past, present, and future racing enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

Each Gold Cup Ambassador will represent a local charity of their choice. The Ambassador representing the horse that wins the Gold Cup & Saucer Final will have a $5000 donation made to their selected charity. All other charities selected by Ambassadors will receive a $1000 donation.<\/p>\n
Since its introduction in 2021, the Gold Cup Ambassador Give Back Program has raised $52,000 dollars for local charities!<\/p>\n

The Tarmac\/Trackside area will open one hour and 30 minutes prior to post. Guests are encouraged to arrive early as space is limited and will fill up quickly.<\/p>\n
Race programs will be available for sale from the program sellers, located at the entrance of the Trackside\/Tarmac area. Race programs are also available to view at redshores.ca\/racing<\/a><\/p>\n Seller stations will be set up in all areas for guests to purchase wagering tickets.
