The $2,350 conditioned contest has David Dowling driving the five-year-old Alberta bred son of Custard The Dragon for trainer Vaughan Doyle and owner Chris Kelly of Calgary, Alta.<\/p>\n<p>Stoney Curtis (To be driven by Adam Merner) has rail control for new trainer Jared Perrot while Power Of Four (Irwin Neill) is another top contender from post 3.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Tar Moxie (Norris Rogers) is the morning line favourite from post 7 for owner Dunsan Farms of Warren Grove.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the season\u2019s opener are Pineapple Express (William MacKay Jr.), Azure Beach (Ken Murphy), Bold N Bad (Brett Clow) and Montrose Hope (Myles Heffernan Sr.).<\/p>\n<p>The Post Time Picks give Five Star Dragon the edge to open up 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive Star Dragon rallied in for the show prize on New Year\u2019s Eve and remember that was from post seven. Much better starting point and Dowling remains on board so they could kick off 2025 with a win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Poplar Artie is the favourite in the race 3 Byron Gamester Memorial for trainer Lenny Myers. Brady Sweet will sit in the driver\u2019s seat in place of regular pilot Marc Campbell who is travelling Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The race 12 feature sees Stash It Away (Corey MacPherson) the top selection in the $3,800 class for trainer Kevin MacLean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford.
